On Thursday, November 21, the winners of the Enlightener Prize — the best popular science books of 2024 — will be announced. The ceremony will take place in Berlin (in the famous Theater im Delphi) and in Moscow; however, for all viewers for the first time the live broadcast will be available not only on the Prize's social networks, but also in book spaces in Paris, Lisbon and Tel Aviv.
Traditionally, the jury will choose the best Russian-language and translated non-fiction in two categories — “Natural and exact sciences” and “Humanities”, as well as announce the winner of the Enlightener, Political Writing Nomination, which since 2022 will recognize books on significant socio-political topics.
The ceremony will be held in the format of a teleconference between two cities — Moscow and Berlin. In Germany it will be hosted by a popular journalist and author of the YouTube channel “And to talk?”, and in Moscow — by a famous journalist and TV presenter Tatiana Malkina.
And this time the live broadcast will be available not only at YouTube, but also in bookstores: fans of science fiction are welcome to watch together at the Turgenev Library in Paris, Babel in Tel Aviv and Liberty Books in Lisbon with free admission. The live stream will begin on November 21 at 20:00, Moscow time (18:00, Berlin time) on the YouTube channel of the Enlightener Prize.
