He Watched the Sun. Yegor Letov and His Time

Yegor Letov was the leader of the band Civil Defence and Communism, a musician, poet, artist and thinker, and one of the key figures in Soviet and Russian culture over the last 50 years. Alexander Gorbachev, a journalist makes the first attempt to write a full biography of Letov, based on interviews with eyewitnesses and hundreds of documentary sources which contains so many exciting events and surprising twists that it would be enough for several TV series. The book grew out of the podcast He Watched the Sun, but was actually created from the very beginning: Letov's life course and his creative adventures are presented in all their complexity, contradictions, and paradoxes.
